Brag about yourself - what makes you great at what you do?
I'm a past stockbroker, music composition major, art history minor, secretary, administrator, grant writer, sales trainer, traditionally observant Jewish mother and grandmother, who took all of these skills, talents and experiences and added determination, passion and motivation which resulted in becoming a Jewish toy designer and entrepreneur. The company logo is "Jewish Toy Factory - the Biggest Breakthrough in Jewish Toys Since the Dreidel" and I'm serious about that. I was honored in the World Trade Center (I'm dating myself now) as "Woman of the Year" for my work as a female entrepreneur as a Jewish toy designer and my work with Jewish children. I also received special recognition from President Bush and V. President Reagan at this event. (Is that bragging enough? - humility is going down the drain). Presently, I have partnered with an MBA in marketing from Stanford University who performed and arranged all my Jewish music, a retired professional box and character designer from Madison Avenue in NY, and a graphic artist from Italy/UK fluent in 5 languages including Hebrew, It's an extremely talented and passionate team who design the best and safest Jewish toys ever made for our children worldwide. Our inclusion of traditional music is appealing to all levels of Jewish observance and is of the finest quality, never before presented on any Judaic shelf, catalog or e-mail cart. We also have high-tech lighting and one toy is my original invention presently in the design patent stage. Everything is in Hebrew/English product names and instructions and every toy has an information booklet with historical information from words to tunes in many languages, and tribute to composers or Torah passages where song(s) originated. I'm honored to have started this venture and look forward to going from the "Idea to the Shelf" once again. Team slogan, "It's all good!"
What types of business contacts are you looking to make?
Get me out of China if possible - even though they corner most of the toy making market and they have years of knowledge and technology under their belts. They are not always easy to work with and I find their pricing high - sometimes unreasonable. Looking also for better shipping opportunities and closer manufacturing to California, our home base. Mexico also makes their parts in China and assembled in Mexico but not willing to work with my smaller quantities and quality is also questionable. Also looking for second seed financing from someone who shares our same passion and concern for something better for our children. They deserve it. 1.5M+ Jewish children worldwide between ages 0-6 does not make for a limited market. It's a win-win-win situation; profits for investors, happy customers and happy children. These toys are memory makers and made to last. Ask me for my Business Plan please.
