Networking Events for Jewish Entrepreneurs

How many of us spend a portion of our time with netwoking goups such as BNI, LeTip, or other similar types? It is my experience that the "serious"networkers give these types of groups a chance, but normally leave after a year as they are giving, but not receiving.

In order for a network group to be successful, you must surround yourself with similar types of networkers who are willing to open up their contact lists up to the group. This can only be done if you, as a group member, are assurred that the other group members will treat that referral as a VIP. What does this mean? If I get a referral, I will contact the person immediately by telephone. If they do not answer, I will leave a message and then follow up with another phone call. Once the contact is made, I will then call back the individual that made the referral to let them know that we spoke, fill them in on the conversation, let them know if anything will come of the referral and again thank them for trusting in you enough to make the referral.

The key is they trusted you in making the referral and it is your obligation to treat that referral the best that you can.

When making a referral, the best thing that you can do is to contact the person to let them know that you are going to have someone that you trust and feel that they are the best person in that business classification to assist them in their need.

The best way to thank the person that referred you is to refer them.
