Brag about yourself - what makes you great at what you do?
Developing great strategies, teams, and products, Paul Siegel has been active in various roles in or related to international banking, private equity and management for 30+ years. Currently Managing Director of The Globecon Group, a preeminent talent management and professional development firm focused on the financial services vertical, Paul is also an active international private equity investor through the Starweaver Group.

Paul began his career in 1980 in middle market lending and moving to real estate banking. Over the next decade, he held positions of increasing responsibility at O&Y, C&W and Daiwa, moving on to grow his own private equity career. From the early ‘90s to the present, the focus of Paul’s companies has been in technology where he has successfully developed, financed, managed and/or sold businesses.

An inventor and patent holder in talent management software and systems, Paul has also co-authored several books (Credit Derivatives and Options Applications, both published by McGraw-Hill, 2006) and authored ‘Real Estate Investing’, published in Japan by the Japan Economic Times (1991). Paul is under contract for McGraw-Hill on a new book entitled, "Banking on Relationships" that focuses on talent management and the “Quest for Excellence.” As publisher, Paul has overseen the publication of over 100 books under the Globecon Press name, including The Globecon Reader and other technical books (See Amazon for details).

Paul holds a BA degree (honors in economics) from the University of Pennsylvania where he participated in the Benjamin Franklin Scholars program; MBA from the NYU Graduate School of Business (International Business and Finance); and, a certificate from ESADE in Barcelona, Spain.

Athletic (tennis, basketball, sailing and bicycling) and musical (clarinet and guitar), Paul has two beautiful children and resides in the New York City area. Se habla español fluidamente.

Specialties:"Blue Ocean" strategies, product development, technology-based products and services, enterprise software, business process outsourcing, and, publishing. Paul has been instrumental in start-up businesses and product ideas (e.g., Epromos, Infosafe, Medivault), as well as early stage firms ($2-10 mm pa: e.g., American Life Resources, Ecologic, Movietime, iGain), and expansion stage or mature businesses ($25 mm - $2 bn pa: e.g., Nutriplus, Liberty Travel), and many others.
